Frequently asked questions before getting a tattoo with anesthesia

We solve all your doubts about tattoos with anesthesia.

How does anesthesia during a tattoo work?

It is administered through a combination of intravenous anesthetic drugs. During general anesthesia, the patient does not feel pain and is unaware of what is happening around them. The duration of unconsciousness is carefully controlled and monitored by the anesthesiologist throughout the procedure. Once the surgical or medical procedure is completed, the anesthetic drugs are discontinued, and the patient begins to wake up gradually.

Yes, in general, anesthesia used for tattoos is safe when administered correctly by trained professionals. However, it's important to consider the following: Anesthesia should be administered by a qualified healthcare professional, such as a doctor or an anesthesiologist, or under their direct supervision. Before administering anesthesia, a comprehensive medical evaluation should be conducted to ensure that the patient does not have any pre-existing medical conditions that could increase the risk of complications. During the tattooing process, the patient should be closely monitored for any signs of adverse reactions or complications related to the anesthesia.

The effect of anesthesia lasts exactly as long as necessary to perform the tattoo, in the case of a full back piece, it would be approximately 8 hours.

After anesthesia, it is possible that the area where the tattoo was performed may still experience some discomfort or sensitivity, but in general, the anesthesia should have significantly reduced any pain associated with the tattooing process. However, each person responds differently to anesthesia and the tattoo healing process, so it is important to follow the tattoo artist's instructions and properly care for the tattooed area to minimize any post-procedural discomfort.

For the first 3 days you can't drink alcohol. for 10 days minimum: you can't work out at the gym you can't go to the pool or beach you can't sunbathe

Anesthesia is administered by a qualified and experienced healthcare professional, who is an anesthesiologist or a nurse anesthetist, under the supervision of a physician. These professionals have the necessary education, training, and experience to administer anesthesia safely and effectively.

The tattoo and anesthesia service will be performed at our studios in Miami and Madrid.
